Reporting Changes in Household Circumstances

Most households found eligible for SNAP benefits must only report when the household income meets or exceeds the current income level for the household size. The change must be reported by the tenth (10th) of the month following the month in which the change occurred. The current income level may be found on the back of notices mailed to the client or by contacting the local county office.

Households should report a new address to avoid problems with use of their EBT card and to receive mail from their worker.

If the household fails to report a required change and receives extra SNAP benefits, the value of these benefits will have to be repaid. The person could also be prosecuted for fraud.
